PEZylvania brings beloved PEZ© collectors together, with a variety of activities to benefit our charity, the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley. The day's events are held in memoriam of Ralph Riovo, our founder, and activities include charity raffles, live and silent auctions for some amazing PEZ items, and a Halloween Costume contest for kids and adults!
Our Founder, Ralph S. Riovo
Ralph Riovo, founder of PEZylvania, held the first gathering in October of 2007 in a tent outside of his store at Renninger’s, The Purple Cow. The event exploded quickly due to Ralph’s tremendous passion for collecting; but mostly because of his warm presence, loving nature, and kind hearted ways. He was a true PEZHead, with a deep understanding for the fun and excitement of collecting, coupled with the integrity and honesty of most PEZHeads that we’ve met.
Due to Ralph’s unique genuineness, PEZylvania, despite only being one day, became one of our favorite Pezzy events. And the droves of people that came out to the tiny room year after year was proof positive that Ralph knew how to throw a party! We hope to continue his tradition of a high quality PEZ gathering that grows bigger and better every year!
Our Charity
In honor of Ralph, we have chosen the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley as our beneficiary. Their mission is to keep companion animals in loving homes and prevent their surrender to the shelter system by supplying families with pet food in times of economic distress. They also supply many local animal shelters with food. We hope to see all of our PEZ friends participating in the charity auctions and raffles to support this wonderful organization!
Following Ralph’s tradition, those who bring an item from the Animal Food Bank’s wish list or donate an item to the charity auctions will receive a special PEZylvania Charity pin.
